Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chechnya's head, Ramzan Kadyrov, at his residence, Kadyrov reported on his Telegram channel.
Before the meeting, Putin, who visited the republic for the first time since 2011, paid his respects at the tomb of Akhmat Kadyrov, the first leader of modern Chechnya and father of the current head of the region, in their ancestral village. The president also engaged with SVO (special military operation) volunteer fighters at the Russian University of Special Forces in Gudermes and toured the newly built Prophet Isa Mosque in Grozny.
Ramzan Kadyrov, who had previously announced the president's busy schedule in the republic, accompanied Putin throughout the visit. However, until now, Putin had not held a formal working meeting with the Chechen leader during this trip.
The last working meeting between Putin and Kadyrov took place on February 23 at the Kremlin, where Kadyrov briefed the president on the socio-economic development of Chechnya and the region's contributions to the SVO.
