Industrialnaya Street in Grozny has been renamed in honor of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The opening ceremony of the stele was attended by Chechen Head Ramzan Kadyrov and Mohammed Ahmed Al-Jaber, the Emirates' Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
"I am doubly pleased that one of the streets of our republic's capital is honored to bear the name of my dear brother, Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He is a friend to the entire Chechen people and makes a great contribution to the development of the region's economy. This is not the first symbol of friendship between our peoples. In 2011 we opened a Hafiz school in Gudermes and named it after the UAE's first President," Kadyrov said in his speech.
In turn, the Ambassador thanked the region's leadership and noted that relations between the UAE and the Chechen Republic have reached a new level. "It is of great importance for us the high recognition by the republic's leadership and residents, an outstanding personality in the person of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Warm, trusting and fraternal relations have developed between him and the President of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the Chechen Republic. There is no doubt that today's event will give a significant impetus to further strengthening of bilateral relations between our countries and nations.
The UAE Ambassador arrived in Chechnya on a working visit on Sunday. He plans to visit the construction site of an international university in Grozny, the Veduchi resort, and discuss investment policy with Muslim Khuchiyev, Chairman of the regional government.
In 2020, Industrialnaya Street was completely reconstructed as part of the national project "Safe and Quality Roads", widening the road to six lanes. In addition, utilities were replaced along the entire stretch, and road signs were installed.
