Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev will arrive in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) on Thursday.
He will hold a meeting in Nalchik devoted to additional measures to ensure security in the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District. Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the district Yuri Chaika, heads of the regions, representatives of federal ministries and agencies will take part in it.
The secretary of the Security Council holds regular meetings on topical security issues in various federal districts. At these meetings he traditionally not only touches upon current issues, but also sums up the results of implementation of decisions made during the previous meeting under his chairmanship in these territories.
The previous such event was devoted to the situation in the Volga region. It was held in Ulyanovsk on March 21.
Last time Patrushev discussed the situation in the North Caucasian Federal District in March 2022 at the meeting in Grozny. The issues of economic, state and public security, and additional measures to counteract international extremist and terrorist organizations were discussed at the meeting.
Separately, questions related to the special military operation, the aggravation of the international political situation and the growth of economic and political pressure on Russia were touched upon.
