Putin Arrives in Kabardino-Balkaria

20 August

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Agro 07 LLC horticultural farm in Kabardino-Balkaria on Tuesday as part of his working trip to the North Caucasus Federal District.

Putin traveled to the North Caucasus following a two-day state visit to Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus. His last visit to Kabardino-Balkaria was in November 2019 when he visited Nalchik.

The president is accompanied by the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Kazbek Kokov, the presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, Yuri Chaika, and Russian Agriculture Minister, Oksana Lut.

After familiarizing himself with the operations of the enterprise, it is expected that Putin will hold a meeting with the head of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Putin's Visits to Kabardino-Balkaria

Putin’s last trip to Kabardino-Balkaria took place in 2019. During that visit, he not only met with the republic's leadership but also visited the children’s academy of creativity "Sun City" and chaired a meeting of the Council on Interethnic Relations in Nalchik.

The president has been closely monitoring the region’s development. At a meeting with Kazbek Kokov in May, Putin acknowledged the increase in investment projects in the republic but criticized the Kabardino-Balkarian government for insufficient attention to social facilities like kindergartens and polyclinics.

About the Horticultural Farm

LLC Agro 07, founded in 2007, specializes in the production and processing of horticultural products, particularly apples. The farm's orchards span about 200 hectares across two municipal districts of Kabardino-Balkaria, with plans to plant an additional 40 hectares of orchard in 2024. The enterprise also boasts modern fruit storage facilities. This year, the company expects to harvest around 10,000 tons of apples.

Since 2020, Agro 07 has expanded into blueberry cultivation, harvesting 25 tons last year. The farm also produces natural fruit pastilles without added sugar.
