Karachay-Cherkessia Declares April 10 a Day Off for Uraza Bayram Celebration

The head of the republic, Rashid Temrezov, has declared April 10 a day off in Karachay-Cherkessia in honor of the Uraza Bayram holiday. This decision was made in accordance with a decree signed by Temrezov.

 

"According to the decree, local self-government bodies, administrations of enterprises, organizations, and institutions of various forms of ownership are granted the right to organize work on this day, taking into account the real possibilities of providing employment for workers and employees. Work on April 10, 2024, is compensated by providing another day of rest," the press service of the head and government of the republic stated in a message.

 

Uraza Bayram (Eid al-Fitr in Arabic) is one of the main holidays of Muslims, marking the end of the fasting period during Ramadan. On this holiday, collective prayers (namaz) are held, it is customary to visit cemeteries and remember the deceased, as well as to visit relatives, give gifts, and treat neighbors with sweets.
