Six law enforcement officers were wounded in an attack by a militant in the village of Uchkeken in Karachaevo-Cherkessia, the information center of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) told TASS.
"Today around 12:00 Moscow time in the Uchkeken village of the Karachaevo-Cherkessia Republic, an attempt by an unidentified person to break into the territory where law enforcement agencies were carrying out operational and search activities was prevented," the NAC said. The ministry noted that as a result of the explosion the militant was killed, and the law enforcers were slightly wounded. There were no civilian casualties.
The NAC noted that the injured are being provided with medical assistance. The identity of the bomber is being established, and search operations are continuing.
