Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Ravil Gaynutdin has announced restrictions for employees of mosques, according to which they will not be allowed to go to work without being vaccinated against coronavirus, Deputy Chairman of the organization Damir Mukhetdinov told TASS on Monday.
"At the Religious Board, our leader Ravil Gaynutdin said very harshly that if our employees are not vaccinated, they will not be allowed to enter the workplace. As for religious people, we were the very first to insist very firmly on keeping a distance, on closing mosques in general. We thought that the elements of collective prayer, Friday prayers and festive gatherings of people would suffer, although it was very difficult for us, but we would save lives," said an interlocutor of the agency.
Earlier, Ildar Alyautdinov, chairman of the Religious Board of Moscow Muslims, told TASS that one of the main Islamic holidays, Eid al-Adha, might be held online if the tense situation with the spread of COVID-19 in Moscow and the Moscow region did not change.
