Putin: the mortality rate from the coronavirus in Russia is much lower than in other countries

20 July 2020

President Vladimir Putin believes that Russia manages to cope with the coronavirus with minimal losses.

During a conversation with workers of the Zaliv Shipbuilding yard in Kerch, the head of state noted that "in countries with a good, developed health system, in rich countries of Europe, the mortality rate is 8,10,11,13, in some countries more than 15 percent." "We have 1.5 percent. You can treat statistics as you like, trust or not trust, but it is obvious that we have an order of magnitude less, " the President stressed. He explained the low mortality rate in Russia for several reasons, calling first of all the flexibility of the health system, training of specialists and "the ability of the state to mobilize resources".

"In general, we are still able to turn this difficult page with minimal losses," Putin said.
