Rospotrebnadzor proposed to open mosques and temples in Dagestan

The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor for Dagestan offers to resume the work of religious institutions in the region. Currently, mosques and temples are closed to parishioners.


As the head of the department Nikolay Pavlov said at a meeting of the regional operational headquarters for the prevention of introduction and spread of the coronavirus infection, opening of mosques and temples would be possible, subject to the mask, disinfection regime and of social distancing.


A ban on visiting cemeteries, mosques and temples was introduced in Dagestan on April 16 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. In Dagestan, 8,232 cases of the coronavirus infection were registered, and 397 people died.
