Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu has arrived in the troops of the Southern Military District, where he will check the progress of construction of new basing points of the Caspian Flotilla, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters.
"Within the framework of the working visit, the Defense Minister will inspect the basing point of surface ships in Makhachkala and the basing point in Kaspiysk that is under construction as well as the training base of the unit for combating subversive forces and means," the Defense Ministry said.
The Minister will hear the report of the command of the Southern Military District and the Caspian Flotilla about the progress of combat training and the organization of the training process.
Apart from that, Shoigu will assess the fulfillment of the state defense order at the Dagdizel plant.
