Two militants involved in attacks on law enforcement officers were eliminated in Ingushetia, the Information center of the National Anti-terrorist Committee (NAC) reported TASS.
The militants involved in the attack on law enforcement officers were found in the Sunzhensk district. They were blocked in one of the sections of mountainous and wooded terrain. In response to an offer to lay down their weapons and surrender to the authorities, they opened fire. "During the exchange of fire, two bandits were neutralized. According to available data, they intended to commit a number of terrorist crimes," the NAC reported.
A source in law enforcement agencies said that the identity of two liquidated militants was established.
"The identities of the two militants who were eliminated have already been established. One of them is a native of Ingushetia. It is assumed that they were involved in the murder of a Russian guardsman, which was committed in July, the fingerprints of one of them match those left on the car of the murdered Russian guardsman," the source said.
Information that one of the militants found a service weapon of the killed employee of the Russian Guard, was not confirmed, the source said.
Machine guns, a pistol, a large amount of ammunition for them and improvised explosive devices ready for use were found at the scene of the clash.
The NAC reported that there were no civilian casualties or losses among law enforcement officers. Operational search measures and investigative actions are currently being carried out.
