Crimean mosques opened for collective prayers, which were suspended in March due to the coronavirus epidemic, and the regime of wearing face masks will remain, the press service of the Crimean Muftiate reports.
All mosques in Crimea were closed since March 23 to prevent the coronavirus infection. According to the Muftiate, there are more than 300 mosques in Crimea.
"Since June 15, 2020, by the order of the Mufti of Crimea, Friday and collective prayers, dua rites resumed, as well as name-giving and nikahs, educational activities," the report says.
Holding collective rites and visiting mosques is possible only with the use of masks and disinfectants, the Muftiate noted. A social distance of 1.5 meters must be observed between those praying in the mosque and other places of worship, and an individual prayer mat must be brought.
The Muftiate advises refraining from shaking hands and hugging when visiting the mosque. The Muftiate also recommends that collective prayers be as short as possible and that the time for funeral rites be reduced.
