Any citizen living in Crimea can speak their native language freely, unlike in Ukraine, where bans are imposed on the use of the Russian language, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday in an interview with Russian and foreign media on the current international agenda.
"In Crimea, about which some people in the West are so pampered, there are three state languages, something that never happened under the Ukrainian government: Russian, Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian. Any Russian citizen living in Crimea has a full right to apply to any state or local office in their language, and they are obliged to respond in the language in which they apply," the Russian foreign minister said.
Lavrov also said that foreigners are not allowed to leave Ukraine. The Russian Federation is ready to accept foreign students who are now leaving Ukraine, the minister said.
