Ukraine is not capable of returning Crimea by force, it is impossible to seriously assess Ukrainian politician Tatyana Chernovol's threats, Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Ukrainian politician and former Verkhovna Rada deputy Tatyana Chernovol called on the TV channel "Pryamoy" to be "constantly ready to conduct, literally tomorrow, a military operation to return Crimea." In her opinion, it is necessary to wait until "the processes of turbulence begin in Russia" to take advantage of this moment to seize the peninsula militarily.
"What she calls for is impossible, such an operation will not be carried out by anyone, neither the Ukrainian army nor the NATO armed forces. Crimea is an integral part of Russia. An attack on Crimea is an attack on the Russian Federation," Korotchenko said.
According to the expert, any country or military unit that would allow this to happen would simply be destined for destruction.
Korotchenko stressed that it is impossible to seriously assess Chernovol's words. "Her condition should be commented on by a psychiatrist. It is impossible to discuss it seriously," he added.
