Four terrorist attacks have been prevented in Crimea since the beginning of this year, said on Tuesday Secretary of Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushev.
"Well-coordinated work of special services and law-enforcement agencies allowed [in 2020] to prevent eight crimes of terrorist nature, including four terrorist acts," the Secretary of the Security Council said at the meeting on national security on the territory of the Crimean peninsula held in video format.
Patrushev also noted that for all revealed violations of anti-terrorist security of hotels and health resorts on the peninsula "appropriate measures have been taken by the prosecutor's response".
The Russian Security Service Secretary also touched upon other security issues in Crimea. According to him, the measures taken allowed to prevent complications of the criminogenic situation in the region and natural and technogenic emergencies during the last resort season. According to Patrushev, this year in the Crimea, 59 people were saved from drowning, the number of fires reduced by 23%, almost 13% - the number of accidents and deaths in them, almost a third - the number of child victims in car accidents, and "strengthening control over the quality and safety of food and drinking water allowed to prevent mass food poisoning".
"In preparing for the holiday season 2021 it is necessary to take into account the experience gained this year," the Secretary of the Security Council said.
