Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, emphasized the significance of interregional cooperation between the Russian Federation and African countries. He noted that, in the face of unprecedented pressure from the West, regions such as Crimea and others have the potential to strengthen trade and economic relations with the African continent. This statement was made during a meeting of the Crimean-African Business Council.
"We believe that amid the extraordinary pressures exerted by the Western collective on both us and our partners, regional and municipal cooperation serves as a pivotal instrument in fostering mutually advantageous and equitable engagement with African nations," he stated during his address at the council meeting, taking place as part of the Yalta International Forum.
Ozerov highlighted that Crimea stands as the nearest region to the African continent, offering terminals and a port to facilitate the exchange of goods between the two regions. He noted, "We have the potential to export our products and import African goods," underscoring that the Foreign Ministry plays a crucial role in providing diplomatic backing for expanding connections and enhancing trade, economic, and humanitarian collaboration.
The Yalta International Forum takes place in Moscow on October 23 and 24.
