Sergey Shoigu became an Honorary citizen of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania

The head of North Ossetia, Vyacheslav Bitarov, signed a decree awarding Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu the title "Honorary citizen of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania", This was reported in the press service of the head and government of the Republic.


"While holding responsible government positions, Sergey Shoigu has repeatedly provided professional assistance and personal support in difficult times for the Ossetians. He made a great contribution to the stabilization of the situation related to the Ossetian-Georgian conflict of the 90s. Thanks to the active participation of the entire staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the zone of the Ossetian-Georgian conflict for many years, stability was maintained, security was provided, and everything necessary was done to strengthen peace and interethnic harmony," the message reads.


According to the press service, Sergey Shoigu provides serious assistance in the development of military infrastructure and military-patriotic education of the younger generation of North Ossetia. According to his personal instructions, a military hospital and a new complex of the North Caucasus Suvorov military school are being built in Vladikavkaz.
