Kamaz representatives will arrive in Myanmar in May to study production opportunities. Proposals will be formed for the signing of a cooperation agreement, the press service of the president of Tatarstan reported on Thursday.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and delegation of the Republic, including representatives of large companies, paid a working visit to Myanmar. As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of the country, Aung Nayn U, where the parties discussed cooperation in various fields.
"Kamaz General Director [Sergey Kogogin] told us that a group from the automobile plant will arrive in Myanmar in May to explore production opportunities. The auto giant is ready to consider a full-spectrum option: production of vehicles, personnel training, development of a service network. The proposal is ready to form by June and submitted for signing," the press service.
It is noted that the parties plan to sign agreements in several other directions. In particular, in the supply of fertilizers from Tatarstan, as well as the supply of rice from Myanmar. "Your visit is important for us not only in terms of economy, but also in terms of politics. Therefore, I would like, with your participation, to sign several projects and agreements on the interest of our country in cooperation with your specific enterprises," the press service quotes the minister as saying.
Minnikhanov emphasized that there is potential for expanding cooperation in the field of supplies of products of petrochemical and machine building industries of Tatarstan, shipbuilding and automobile industry, automation of production processes, healthcare, production of medical products and pharmaceuticals. He also touched on digitalization.
According to the press service, Minister Aung Nguyen U assured of his readiness to cooperate in a wide range of areas, stressing that today Myanmar is expanding cooperation with Russia specifically in the civilian sector. He reminded that the next online conference between Russian and Myanmar businessmen will be held soon, to which the minister will invite businessmen from Tatarstan.
