Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Kazan on a working trip to visit the S.P. Gorbunov aviation plant and hold a meeting on the development of the aircraft industry.
In particular the head of the cabinet will visit the production facilities and familiarize himself with the plans of the plant development. Also the agenda includes the inspection of the medium-range passenger plane TU-214 and the conversation with the workers of the plant.
At the end of the working day Mishustin will have a meeting with Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Mishustin has already laid flowers at the eternal flame in Victory Park. The commemorative event took place on the 82nd anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
Memorial to the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War is a pantheon located around the eternal flame, with marble tablets bearing the names of Heroes of the Soviet Union. Victory Stele of 42 meters high is located at the entrance to the park, at the foot of it there are statues of a warrior with a sword and a mother with a baby in her arms. The stele is crowned with a laurel wreath.
In 2021 a monument to soldiers-internationalists was also unveiled in the park. The sculptural composition "After the battle" 3.2 meters high is made of bronze and includes the figures of commander, gunner and signalman.
About the plant
The S.P.Gorbunov Kazan aviation plant is one of the largest enterprises of aviation industry of Russia. It is a branch of PJSC "Tupolev" and is a part of United Aircraft Corporation. The main products are military and civil aircraft, as well as consumer goods. The enterprise designs, manufactures and tests various types of aircraft, develops and implements new technologies for their production, provides operation and after-sales service of aircraft, trains crews.
Over the years of its operation the plant has produced 22 types of aircraft with total number of more than 20 thousand units including ANT-3, Pe-2, Tu-16, Tu-104B, Il-62M, Tu-22MZ, Tu-160.
The aviation plant produces strategic missile-carrying airplanes Tu-160 and passenger airplanes Tu-214, repairs and further upgrades Tu-160 and Tu-22M3.
