Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his pride in Kazan and the city's development during discussions with Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who had visited Kazan the day before.
"I understand that you have recently visited Kazan. We take pride in Kazan and the remarkable progress this city is making. I look forward to hearing your impressions," stated the Russian president as he initiated the meeting with his Uzbek counterpart.
He highlighted that the visit served both as an opportunity for familiarization and for conducting business. Putin emphasized that Tatarstan holds significant potential for collaboration with its partners. Furthermore, he stressed that the advancement of interregional relations between the two nations is progressing admirably.
"Numerous regions within the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan maintain direct ties and connections. Colleagues at the regional level play a substantial and noteworthy role in advancing our bilateral relations," Putin further emphasized.
Mirziyoyev commenced his visit to Russia the day prior, beginning with a visit to Kazan. In Moscow today, ahead of his meeting with Putin, he paid his respects by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden.
