Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Rais Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the Emir for his interest in fostering collaboration between Tatarstan and Qatar within the framework of Russian-Qatari relations. He acknowledged that, presently, the trade volume between Qatar and Tatarstan is relatively modest. However, he highlighted the diverse range of products that could potentially be supplied to Qatar.
During their discussion, the Emir of Qatar conveyed his intention to send a delegation to the Republic of Tatarstan in the near future to explore potential areas of cooperation.
Furthermore, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani confirmed his commitment to assembling a group of businessmen during the KazanForum in 2024. He also extended an invitation to a Tatarstan delegation to participate in an economic summit scheduled for May next year in Doha. Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his readiness to form a representative group comprising individuals from public authorities, industry, and the business sector to learn from the experience and establish valuable business connections.
