Russian emergencies minister Yevgeny Zinichev died during an exercise in Norilsk.
This was reported by the ministry on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, Zinichev died in the line of duty while saving a life.
The minister was in Norilsk at the interagency exercise on the protection of the Arctic zone from emergency situations.
Zinichev had been emergencies minister since May 18, 2018.
