Leaders of Muslim organizations in the Russian Federation have declared their support for the Russian leadership and their full approval of the military operation in Ukraine. A statement to this effect was made at the All-Russian scientific and practical conference in Vladikavkaz on Wednesday.
"We confirm by virtue of the above that the Russian military operation in Ukraine to force the aggressor to peace is a forced defensive and preventive measure in order to secure Russia and all its citizens from the real threat of nuclear and biological weapons from NATO and the 'collective West,'" reads the text of the statement, which was read at the conference on behalf of the coordination center of North Caucasus Muslims by Chairman Ismail Berdiyev.
The statement notes that "nationalists, supposedly representing the Ukrainian people, have for eight years continuously violated the Minsk Treaty, to which Russia is also a party, and have been preparing to destroy it permanently." "The Ukrainian leadership has been killing civilians for eight years and further intended to destroy the DNR and LNR in order to then bring NATO with nuclear and biological weapons close to Russia's borders, creating a direct threat to the security of our entire country, all our citizens," the statement said.
Muslim leaders urged all Muslims in Russia to strengthen unity and more actively explain and defend their position and the interests of their homeland in communication with Muslims in other countries.
The conference was attended by more than 150 representatives of federal and regional executive authorities, experts, as well as leaders of religious associations, public organizations, and employees of educational institutions from 25 subjects of the Russian Federation.
After the conference ended, a collective prayer for all participants in the Russian special operation in Ukraine and those killed in it was held at the central mosque in Vladikavkaz.
