The final results of voting for the Duma elections will be announced on Friday, Ella Pamfilova, head of the Central Election Commission, said.
"I am not congratulating anyone yet until we officially sum up the final results," she said.
According to her, the turnout was 51.68 percent.
"We see a serious difference from a similar campaign five years ago. There's a broadening of political diversity. Already we can assume that there are five parties, not four, running. In addition, along with self-nominated candidates, there are representatives of three other parties in a personal capacity in single-mandate districts. In total, there will be representatives of eight parties in the Duma: five parliamentary and three non-parliamentary," she added.
Earlier, the CEC published the results of processing 99 percent of the PEC protocols. United Russia leads with 49.82% of votes, the KPRF comes second with 19.00%, and the LDPR takes third with 7.49%. A Just Russia - For Truth (7.42%) and New People (5.35%) parties also managed to overcome the 5% barrier.
In addition, United Russia retained its lead in 199 single-mandate districts. The KPRF managed to take the lead in nine electoral districts, and A Just Russia - For Truth in eight. The LDPR, Rodina, Civil Platform, and the Party of Growth each tentatively have one representative from each single-mandate district.
Five candidates are in the lead as self-nominated candidates.
The Duma is elected for a five-year term under a mixed system: 225 deputies from party lists, and another 225 from single-member districts in a single round.
Fourteen associations registered their federal lists of candidates for the lower house of parliament. According to the draw, they were placed on the ballot in the following order: the KPRF, Greens, LDPR, New People, United Russia, Just Russia - For Truth, Yabloko, Party of Growth, Russian Party for Freedom and Justice, Communists of Russia, Civic Platform, Green Alternative, Rodina, and Party of Pensioners.
