Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh proposed the establishment of a humanitarian maritime corridor between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip.
"We demand the opening of a humanitarian corridor to Gaza, not restricted solely to the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt," Al Hadath TV channel quoted him as saying. The prime minister further added, "We suggested establishing a maritime humanitarian corridor between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip". Given the severe humanitarian conditions in the enclave, he urged the UN to "airdrop humanitarian aid to Gaza."
Referring to the health crisis in the Gaza Strip, Shtayyeh condemned Israel's actions as constituting war crimes. He stated, "Attacking hospitals and cutting off their fuel can only be described as war crimes."
The Gaza Strip government's press office reported on Sunday night that a minimum of 22 hospitals and 49 medical centers have ceased operations due to Israeli airstrikes. Nebal Farsakh, a spokeswoman for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, mentioned earlier that there are a total of 35 hospitals in the Gaza Strip. On November 8, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila informed Sky News Arabia that all hospitals in the southern part of the enclave are still operational. Humanitarian aid solely enters the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
