The preparation of an intergovernmental agreement on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Syria is at the final stage, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said on Tuesday during a meeting in Damascus with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
"We are at the final stage of preparing a future intergovernmental agreement that will regulate all our trade and economic cooperation for a long time," he said.
Borisov confirmed that Russia is ready to continue providing military and humanitarian aid to Syria.
Earlier on Tuesday, Borisov met in Damascus with Mansour Azzam, Minister of the Syrian President's Office. The co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission discussed the state of affairs in bilateral cooperation in various fields, such as energy, industrial cooperation, transportation and agriculture.
