BRICS Countries Lead in Global Vaccine and Drug Exports

18 July

BRICS countries account for about a quarter of the world's exports of vaccines and drugs, according to Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor. She made this announcement during an international conference of BRICS countries held in Moscow.

"BRICS countries not only provide for their own needs in vaccines and tests, but also assist other nations. The association accounts for about a quarter of the world's exports of vaccines and drugs," Popova stated.

Popova emphasized that preserving biological sovereignty is one of Russia's priorities. She reiterated that BRICS nations not only fulfill their own requirements for vaccines and tests but also extend support to other countries. Furthermore, she noted that BRICS defends the interests of the global South and advocates for biological sovereignty on the World Health Organization (WHO) platform amid ongoing healthcare reforms.
