A regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIC) will be held in the Kazakh capital on February 24-25, the press service of the Kazakh MFA reported on Thursday.
"On February 24-25, 2022, Nur-Sultan will host the next meeting of the EIC. The event will be attended by the heads of governments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia and the chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Also, participation of states - observers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) - Moldova, Uzbekistan and Cuba is planned," reads the statement.
According to the ministry, the meeting of the EIC will be held in a narrow and extended format. "Its agenda includes questions on the macroeconomic situation in the EEU member states and proposals to ensure sustainable economic development, on a joint project for the implementation of accelerated container rail transport of agricultural products, on the implementation of the Agreement on the mechanism of traceability of goods imported into the customs territory of the EEU, etc.," the ministry said.
The meeting of EIC is traditionally held in late January - early February in Almaty. Simultaneously with it, Kazakh authorities organized a digital forum Digital Almaty. The press service of the MFA of the republic told TASS that this time it will not be held.
