Russia is interested in launching Russian car production in Egypt. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov during a meeting of the Russian-Egyptian intergovernmental commission.
"We are set to expand the industrial partnership in the automotive industry <....> We believe it is important to talk not only about the supply of finished machinery, but also about the industrial assembly of Russian cars in Egypt," Manturov said.
He reminded that at the moment the Egyptian market already has cars of GAZ Group, Avtovaz and Kamaz.
According to Manturov, Russia and Egypt are discussing joint shipbuilding projects.
"We see prospects for cooperation in shipbuilding. Our leading enterprises <...> discuss a capacious list of joint projects with Egyptian colleagues, including modernization of shipyards, joint construction of fishing vessels, tankers, tugs and floating docks," the minister said.
Manturov added that Russia is also ready to share the latest achievements in the sphere of autonomous ship navigation and experience of development of corresponding legal base.
