01 February

Rostec will exhibit more than 100 of its developments at the World Defense Show 2024 in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the IL-76MD-90A(E) heavy transport aircraft and the T-90MS tank.

"The World Defense Show is a relatively new event, held for the second time, yet it has quickly established itself as a pivotal gathering for global armament manufacturers. Middle Eastern and North African countries express a strong interest in weaponry and military hardware that have demonstrated their effectiveness in actual combat scenarios and have outperformed competitor products," the press service quoted Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov as stating.

Chemezov added that the exhibition will feature over 100 developments, representing nearly the full spectrum of contemporary Russian-produced military hardware. Key aircraft on display will include the IL-76MD-90A(E) heavy transport aircraft, the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle equipped with dynamic protection, the T-90MS tank, and various small arms from the Kalashnikov Concern, such as the AK-12, AK-15, AK-19, and AK-308 assault rifles, as well as the PPK-20 submachine gun and the Chukavin sniper rifle. Additionally, the Cub barrage munition in an export configuration will be showcased.

"Countermeasures against drones will also be featured, with the High-Precision Complexes holding presenting an airspace control system capable of tracking up to 20 aircraft simultaneously, including small drones, and determining their type, altitude, and proximity," Rostec reported, adding that other systems to be displayed include the Pantsir-S1M anti-aircraft missile-cannon system, the Iskander-E operational-tactical missile system, the Kornet anti-tank system, and the Krasnopol-M2 155mm guided missile.

Visitors will also see the small-caliber thermobaric reactive flamethrower MRO-A "Borodach" and special-purpose aviation bombs like the P-50T for training aircrew in bomb delivery and the M-6 (M6T), an aerial bomb designed to simulate an air target in passive radar and thermal ranges, intended for training air force and air defense personnel.

The World Defense Show 2024 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 4-8.
