Russia and Saudi Arabia Issue Joint Statement Following Putin's Visit to Riyadh

Russia and Saudi Arabia have issued a joint statement following talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. The key points of the statement include:

 

1. Expansion of cooperation on oil and gas.
2. Expansion of cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.
3. Strengthening defense cooperation to achieve common interests.
4. Continued cooperation on combating cross-border corruption offenses using the GlobE Network.
5. Intensified efforts to maintain international peace and security.
6. Exchange of views on regional and international issues, with a commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination.
7. Expansion of cooperation in geoscience, agriculture, food security, judiciary, justice, tourism, education, scientific research, healthcare, media, and language teaching.
8. Discussion on Iran, emphasizing the importance of Tehran's commitment to the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.
9. Advocacy for an immediate cessation of military operations in the Palestinian territories.
10. Support for international efforts to resolve the crisis in Yemen.
11. Recognition of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian and political efforts on Ukraine, including the release of prisoners.
12. Hope for the resumption of Syria's participation in the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League to help resolve the Syrian crisis.
13. Welcome for the resumption of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
14. Emphasis on adhering to the Jeddah Declaration on the protection of civilians in Sudan.

 

"At the conclusion of his visit, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation expressed gratitude and appreciation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him and his accompanying delegation," the statement said.

 

In turn, the Saudi Crown Prince expressed his best wishes to Putin, wishing him good health and further progress and prosperity for the friendly Russian people.
