Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with Sudanese ambassador-designate in Moscow Mohammed Sirraj preparations for a meeting of the Russia-Sudan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, the Russian MFA said.
"During the conversation, they discussed topical issues of further development of traditionally friendly Russia-Sudan relations, including in the context of preparations for the next meeting of the Russia-Sudan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Moscow in August," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Additionally, the Russian MFA expressed support for "the efforts of the Sudanese leadership to ensure security throughout the territory of the republic".
The ministry also stressed that establishing a dialogue between all segments of Sudanese society is an important aspect for achieving agreements "that would help to stabilize the internal political situation and solve the pressing socio-economic problems of the country".
