Russian authorities resumed regular flights from the capital to Egyptian resorts of the Red Sea on August 9. It was assumed that there would be five flights a week on the route.
In April this year, the presidents of Russia and Egypt agreed on the restoration of air links between Russian cities and resorts on the Red Sea, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Before that several delegations of Russian aviation security specialists inspected airports of Egyptian resorts.
