Russian companies may increase supplies to Azerbaijan by several hundred million dollars, Russian trade representative to Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov told reporters on Wednesday during a working trip to Volgograd.
"Last year, the Russian export center made an assessment of such sectors as machine-building products, food products, and metal structures. For each of them Russian companies have an opportunity to increase supplies to Azerbaijan by several hundreds of millions of dollars," he said.
According to Mirsayapov, 4,000 Russian companies currently work with Azerbaijan, of which 2,500 are small and medium business representatives. According to the results of 2021, over $2 billion worth of goods were supplied to Azerbaijan from Russia. "We have successfully passed the pandemic, which in fact very badly undermined the trade turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan, there was a very good dynamics in 2021," the trade representative added.
