Russian Ministry of Agriculture Initiates Exchange Trade within BRICS Framework

The Russian Ministry of agriculture is leading an initiative aimed at establishing exchange trade within the BRICS framework, Natalia Sosunova, Deputy Director of the Department for Regulation of Agricultural Markets of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, said during a round table in the Federation Council.

 

"A new issue has been brought to the forefront - the establishment of exchange trade within the BRICS association. We are meticulously working on this initiative," stated Sosunova.

 

In early March, Eduard Zernin, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Grain Exporters, discussed the proposal to establish a grain exchange among BRICS member countries during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and workers of the agro-industrial complex.

 

During the meeting, Putin commended the idea of establishing a grain exchange within the BRICS framework.
