Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has appointed Stanislav Yankovets as Russia's trade representative to Saudi Arabia. The corresponding order was published on Monday on the official portal of legal information.
According to the website of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, previously there was no Russian trade representative office in Saudi Arabia.
"To appoint Stanislav Mikhailovich Yankovets as Russian trade representative to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," the document reads.
Previously, Yankovets was the Director-General of the Russian-Arab Business Council (RABC). As stated on the website of the organization, RABC with headquarters in Moscow and Beirut was established in 2003 on the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia and the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the Arab countries (now - Union of Arab Chambers). The council's activities include the development of trade and economic cooperation between business structures of Russia and Arab countries and assistance in establishing business contacts between entrepreneurs.
