Tajikistan's Government Communications Service and the Russian company Tsifra have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The collaboration aims to involve the Russian firm in electronic document management, IP-telephony, e-commerce, and the exchange of experience in implementing IT projects, according to the agency.

"A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and Tsifra Ltd. This memorandum governs bilateral relations in the field of communications and information and communication technologies. It recognizes the significance of collaboration in network security, strengthens ties in the development of the e-commerce system, underscores the importance of introducing electronic documents in Tajikistan, and aims to enhance postal services and IP-telephony," the report stated.

The memorandum was signed by Beg Sabur, the head of the Communications Service, and Sergei Emelchenkov, the head of Digitala. The agreement includes provisions for joint seminars on the development of digital technologies, the exchange of experience in communication systems, and information technology development. Additionally, Tajikistan aims to collaborate with the company on initiatives related to internet access, and the enhancement of 4G and 5G mobile networks.

As per the company's website, it specializes in the digitalization of industrial enterprises and independently develops software products on its platform.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon previously highlighted the country's efforts for the gradual digitalization of various sectors, including the economy, government, and business. Tajikistan has adopted a comprehensive concept and program for the development of the digital economy. In November, during the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia summit, President Rakhmon proposed establishing a center for the development of artificial intelligence in Dushanbe.
