Tourist Flow from Saudi Arabia to Russia Increased 15-Fold in the First Quarter

The number of tourists from Saudi Arabia visiting Russia in the first quarter of 2024 increased 15 times compared to the same period in 2023, according to Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. He made this announcement during a session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

 

"A separate priority is the launch of visa-free exchange with Saudi Arabia. In 2023, the number of trips from Saudi Arabia amounted to over 23,000 people, marking a 60% growth. In the first quarter of 2024, we saw a 15-fold increase compared to the first quarter of 2023,” Vakhrukov stated.

 

He also noted that the ministry is working to enhance international transportation connectivity with key markets. In 2023, the number of foreign destinations with direct air connections increased by 25%. “We now have direct communication with 40 foreign countries,” Vakhrukov emphasized.
