Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia will amount to $7 billion by the end of 2021

Russian-Uzbek trade turnover will reach $7 billion by the end of 2021, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said on Friday at the beginning of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.


"The trade turnover is growing. According to the results of nine months, it is already $5 billion. By the end of the year, it will be $7 billion. This figure has never been in our relations before," Mirziyoyev said.


As the Uzbek leader said, the intergovernmental commission of the two countries on economic cooperation continues to carry out important work, "It gives very serious results. Very serious work was done before the visit. <...> Today we have $14 billion worth of projects under consideration".


He said that 11 branches of Russian universities were opened in Uzbekistan in the last three years. Tashkent and Moscow are developing dialogue in the military-technical and transport spheres, as well as fruitful cooperation at the level of parliaments, Mirziyoyev added.


"Our integration is deepening in all directions," Mirziyoyev said.
