The West has demonstrated a policy of double standards by disregarding the proposal to invite a Palestinian representative to a meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation (FSC), stated Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, in an interview with TASS.
"At the peak of the Middle East escalation, the Canadian FSC Chairmanship invited Israel's representative to the OSCE to provide an overview of the situation in the conflict zone. In response, we reiterated our principled position that all parties involved in the confrontation have the right to express their assessments of what is happening. This has always been the case on the UN platform," he said.
According to Gavrilov, this proposal was met with "sepulchral silence" at the FSC, once again demonstrating the West's policy of double standards.
