Lavrov Announces Expansion of Russia's Diplomatic Footprint in Africa

Russia is committed to enhancing its diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian presence in Africa, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a government hour in the State Duma.

 

"We are actively working on expanding our diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian presence in Africa, which is poised to become one of the key centers of the emerging multipolar world," Lavrov stated.

 

He further revealed that Moscow, in collaboration with African nations, is executing the agreements established at the second Russia-Africa summit held in St. Petersburg in July  2023. Additionally, a ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum is planned for the latter half of the year, featuring the participation of foreign ministers and leaders of executive bodies of African integration associations.
