Russia and Burkina Faso are fully unlocking their cooperation potential, especially in military-technical cooperation (MTC), Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced during a press conference following his visit to Burkina Faso.
"Since [transitional Burkina Faso President Ibrahim] Traoré took office, we have been able to fully unlock and continue to develop mutually beneficial, equal cooperation across various sectors, including the economy, social sphere, healthcare, education, and military-technical cooperation. These ties are built on principles of equality and mutual benefit," Lavrov stated.
Lavrov emphasized that the leaders' meeting last year, held on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg, gave additional momentum to the development of bilateral relations. "Yesterday and today, we discussed in detail how these agreements are being implemented as effectively as possible and what remains to be done," concluded the Russian Foreign Minister.
