The Kremlin is not preparing for the inauguration of new US President Joseph Biden, but expects good relations with Washington, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
"The Kremlin is not preparing for the inauguration, nothing will change for Russia (after Biden takes office). Russia, as it has lived for many hundreds of years, will continue to live, looking for good relations with the United States of America," Peskov said. - "It would depend on Mr. Biden and his team whether there will be a reciprocal political will for that".
He added that Putin had earlier congratulated Biden on his election as president of the United States.
The inauguration of US President-elect Joseph Biden will take place Wednesday at noon (8 p.m. Moscow time) on the steps of the Capitol.
