Putin Arrives in Kyrgyzstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kyrgyzstan. This visit marks his first foreign trip of the year.

 

In Bishkek, Putin's schedule is packed with important events. On Thursday, the working day commenced with an official meeting between the Russian president and his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sadyr Zhaparov, at the Ala-Archa state residence. During this meeting, they held talks and subsequently participated in a ceremony to sign bilateral documents. The leaders also made statements to the press.

 

 

Following this, Putin took part in a commemorative event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Russian military airbase in Kant. Additionally, the Russian president had scheduled talks with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev for Thursday.

 

On Friday, Bishkek will host a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, which will be conducted in both narrow and expanded formats. The leaders are expected to sign a series of joint documents. On the same day, Putin will hold a separate meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

 

The Ala-Archa state residence, is situated in the village of Chon-Aryk adjacent to Bishkek, in a picturesque location at the foothills of the Ala-Too mountain range. Typically, this venue hosts all events involving high-ranking foreign guests in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
