13 February

The third Russia-Africa summit will take place in 2026 in one of the African countries, Vsevolod Tkachenko, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Africa Department, told in an interview with TASS.

"We are structuring our preparations for the third Russia-Africa summit based on the annual ministerial conferences to be held in the intervals between the summits. This approach will allow us to clearly outline the preparations for the summit, which is set to take place in 2026 on the African continent," Tkachenko explained.

Previously, Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, indicated that Moscow is actively organizing events intended to lay the groundwork for the upcoming Russia-Africa summit.

The second Russia-Africa summit convened at the Expoforum in St. Petersburg from July  27-28,  2023, alongside an economic and humanitarian forum. Both events bore the motto "For Peace, Security, and Development" and were hosted by the Roscongress Foundation. TASS served as a media partner and photo host for the summit and forum, and also facilitated the Second Russia-Africa Media Forum.
