Russia and Tajikistan expect that the ceremony of laying the first stone of the project to build five new schools in the republic will take place in June. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday following talks with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin.

"A project is being implemented to build five schools [in Tajikistan] where education will be organized according to Russian educational standards. We hope that the foundation stone laying ceremony will take place next month, and the educational process will begin on September 1 next year," he said.

Lavrov noted that Russia and Tajikistan are successfully implementing various education projects. "To date, 50 Russian teachers from 18 of our regions are already working in Tajikistan, sharing their experience with Russians," the Minister added.
