Russian FSB officers prevented a terrorist attack in Ufa by detaining a man who was preparing an explosion at a law enforcement facility on instructions from militants of an international terrorist organization, the Russian Federal Security Service's Center for Public Relations (CPR) told TASS on Friday.

"The Federal Security Service in the city of Ufa of the Republic of Bashkortostan prevented a terrorist act. As a result of the conducted measures, a local resident born in 1995, who was preparing a terrorist act against one of the facilities of law enforcement agencies on the instructions of the militants of the international terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham banned in Russia, was detained," reported in the CPR.

An improvised explosive device ready for use and components for making another one were seized in a private house, which the detainee rented.

The FSB reported that correspondence with members of terrorist structures, exposing his criminal intentions, was found in the man's cell phone. Now operational activities and investigative actions are being carried out.
