The Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition, which was held at the UzExpoCentre National Exhibition Complex in the capital of Uzbekistan, ended with the signing of contracts for 33 projects involving $2.2 billion worth of Russian investments, the exhibition press service said on Thursday.
“The Innoprom - the Great Industrial Week in Uzbekistan International Industrial Exhibition, held for the first time at the UzExpoCentre in Tashkent, has come to an end. Within three days, the exhibition has been visited by more than 10 000 people from all Central Asian states and agreements on launching 33 projects with attracting of Russian investments for $2.2 billion”, the report says. On the Uzbek side, over thousand companies have participated in the exposition and business program of the event.
“The Uzbek-Russian partnership can be much more ambitious and develop on the basis of mutual complementarity and effective cooperation. There are plenty of areas for cooperation with Uzbekistan”, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov highlighted. In his opinion, one of the most promising areas for cooperation between the two countries is the digitalization of the economy, introduction of high technologies and innovations and consolidation of industrial ties and international cooperation.
According to the press service, the exhibition featured specialized sessions: “Digital Production”, “Joint Projects in Mechanical Engineering”, “Financing Industry”, “Urban Technologies” and “Innovations in Energy”, which were attended by representatives from dozens of Russian regions and Uzbekistan. Along with the companies from Russia and Uzbekistan, there were delegations from France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Japan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and other countries.
Innoprom is Russia’s key international industrial exhibition. Since 2010, it has been held annually in pavilions of the Yekaterinburg-Expo International Exhibition Centre. As a rule, around 600 participants representing Russia’s and the world’s largest companies take part in it. The event attracts around 50 000 visitors from 70 countries.
