Crimean Federal University Expands Collaboration with Universities in Iraq, China, India, and Sudan

11 September

The Crimean Federal University (CFU), named after V. I. Vernadsky and based in the Republic of Crimea, is enhancing its partnerships with universities in Iraq, China, India, and Sudan. These collaborations will focus on exchanging faculty members, students, and postgraduates, as well as conducting joint scientific research, according to acting rector Vladimir Kuryanov.

“At present, CFU is finalizing cooperation agreements with six universities from Iran, China, India, and Sudan. These agreements are expected to include faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research projects, joint publications, and joint grant applications, aiming to strengthen ties with international academic institutions,” he said.

Kuryanov also highlighted the university's dedication to expanding Russian-African cooperation. CFU recently hosted the Russian-African Summer Multidisciplinary University, where ten participants from Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, and Congo completed training programs in “International Relations and Russia's Foreign Policy in Africa” and “Life-Threatening Conditions.”

Despite these international endeavors, Kuryanov made it clear that CFU does not currently plan to open branches in other regions of Russia or abroad. The university already has an adequate number of structural divisions and branches within Crimea.
