Federal Security Service of Russia prevents terrorist attack on gas pipeline to Turkey and Europe

The Russian Federal Security Service has prevented an act of terrorism at a gas pipeline supplying energy resources to Turkey and Europe. It was prepared by an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine , he and four of his accomplices were detained, the FSB Center for Public Relations (CPR) told TASS on Thursday.


"The Federal Security Service has prevented an attempt by Ukrainian special services to commit a sabotage and terrorist act at an oil and gas facility supplying energy to Turkey and Europe," the CPR stressed. The executor of the planned act of terrorism - a Russian citizen born in 1978, recruited on the territory of Ukraine by SBU officers - were detained while he was taking two homemade high-powered shaped explosive devices from a cache.


"In addition, four accomplices of the Ukrainian security services, Russian citizens, who provided the preparation of the sabotage, were detained," the FSB reported.


Communication equipment with correspondence and negotiations with a handler from that service, instructions for assembling an explosive device and transferring funds, and the coordinates of the bombing site were also found at the place of detention.
